Hair Types

Who doesn't dream of having a beautiful, manageable and shinny hair? Knowing your hair type is the first step to determining your hairstyle and knowing how to take good care of your hair.

Fine Hair

Most problems of fine hair is not gaining volume and not holding styles, that is because fine hair strand is thin, soft, flat, and lifeless, when healthy it shines, it gets damaged easily. A short blunt cut will create the illusion of more hair. Avoid layers and long hair as the general rule for fine hair is that the shorter it is, the lighter it is and therefore the less limp and flat it gets.

Medium Hair Type

Most people have medium hair which is considered as normal hair. Medium hair strand is not too thick, not too thin, it has lots of body and so it holds any style very well. Wavy hair is considered as medium hair type. It is softer than coarse hair, voluminous than fine hair, more manageable than fine hair.

Coarse Hair Type

Coarse is rough, wiry, heavy, wild, and strong. Curly and kinky hair are types of coarse hair. The hair strand is thick and is often dry and needs conditioning to keep it under control. Wear it long so the weight of the hair drags it down. Get a layered cut.

Applying eye shadows

Eye shadow is the most important part of your eyes make-up, because it can help to re-contour the eyes and add emphasis to them.

Tools:
Use a foam applicator that works with the texture you use, a brush made of natural hair to shade and your fingers for dabbing!

Kinds of Shadow:
Eye shadow comes in cream, powder form or pencils. They can either be frosted or provide a matte finish. Some even provide glitter for a gala occasion. You will have to experiment with colours and textures before you find what suits you best.
Powder shadows are more popular because they are easier to apply and blend.

Best Color:
Either complement for a harmonious look or contrast for a dazzling effect.
- For Blue eyes: use earthy brown, smoky grey, soft pink or green khaki for daytime, and jet or off black for night-time drama. Turquoise and electric blue are on trend too.
- For Green eyes use browns, copper, gold and purple. Avoid bright green that will kill the green of your iris.
- For Brown eyes use any color, but taupe, brown, khaki, bronze and blue are fabulous for reinforcing the darkness of your eyes. Shimmering pastels in mauve and light pearly shades lighten your look.

Applying Technique:
- Tap a light, neutral shade over the base of your eyelid, then apply a darker color to the far corner of your eye and blend outwards.
- Finish with a light touch on the inside corner. To widen your eyes, apply white under your eyebrows.
- To make your eyes stand out apply a touch of shimmer to the middle of the upper lid close to the eye lashes.
If you like light colors and shimmer, go for creamy sparkling shadow. Apply a little soft color to your lid and blend in with your finger. Don’t overload your lid, unless you're after a metallic look.
- If you prefer a velvety finish, apply a shade of powder and play with layers. Close to the lashes, like eye liner, apply a darker tone with a brush, and then add softer color to your lid, blending with a foam applicator.
